Cafés & Careers brings together ambitious women for coffee, every other Saturday, at the city's best specialty cafés. To keep every meetup respectful, safe and worth coming to, we ask every member to follow these guidelines.
1. Show Up Fully
Be present: keep your phone away once your group has found each other. The best conversations happen when everyone is engaged.
Be generous: share what you know, ask about what others are working on, and make room for everyone in the group to speak.
2. A Yes Is a Commitment
Come when you say yes: your group is small, so every member matters. Only reply YES when you plan to be there.
Be on time: arrive at the start time. If you are running late, say so in the group chat.
Update early: if your plans change, let us know as soon as possible using the link in your messages.
3. Real Identity & Trust
Be you: use your real name and keep your profile accurate. Trust is the foundation of the network.
Talk careers, don't sell: conversations about work are the point. Pitching products, selling services or recruiting for other organizations is not.
4. Respect & Boundaries
A safe space: we have zero tolerance for harassment, discrimination or aggressive behavior, in the group chat and in person.
Respect the café: you are a guest. Order something, follow the house rules and treat the staff well.
Pay your own way: everyone pays for what they order.
5. Privacy & Consent
Photos: always ask before taking a photo that includes other members.
What's shared stays in the group: don't share other members' details or group chat messages without their consent. Staying in touch happens only when both of you choose to connect.
6. Enforcement
Reporting: if a member breaks these guidelines, please contact us at hello@cafesandcareers.com.
Consequences: breaking these guidelines may lead to a warning, suspension or removal from the network.
