1. Acceptance of Terms. By applying to, joining or using Cafés & Careers (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms & Conditions and our Member Guidelines. The Service is operated by Rosedale Technologies Ltd., 30 Bertrand Ave, Toronto ON M1L 2P5 ("we", "us" or "our").
2. The Service. Cafés & Careers is a private, women-only membership network. Every other Saturday, members meet for coffee in small groups of 3–6, curated by us, at cafés we choose. There are no hosts and no reservations: each group meets in front of the café. The Service is not a dating, recruiting or sales platform.
3. Applications & Eligibility.
Women only: membership is open to women only.
Verification: you apply with your name, email, phone number, city, details about your work and a link to a public LinkedIn, Instagram or YouTube profile, and verify your phone number by text. Every application is reviewed by hand, and membership is by approval only.
Decisions: we may approve or decline any application at our discretion and are not required to give reasons.
4. Membership & Fees.
Paid membership: membership is a recurring monthly subscription. The price for your country is shown before you pay. There is no free tier.
When you pay: approval does not involve any payment. Once we can place you in a group, we text you an invitation to a meetup Saturday with the price; you pay when you accept it, by completing your membership before replies close (Thursday at 8 PM in your city). Paying is your yes for that Saturday. If you don't, nothing is charged and we will invite you again (up to three invitations); after that you can still join at any time from your account.
Billing & cancellation: payments are processed by Stripe. You can cancel at any time from your account; your membership stays active until the end of the period you have paid for.
Café costs: you pay the café directly for anything you order.
5. Meetups. Before each meetup Saturday we text you an invitation; reply YES to join that Saturday. The evening before, we send the café, who is coming and short introductions. Groups are formed by us and may change before the meetup.
6. Messages & Group Chat. We contact you by SMS, with copies of key messages by email. When you apply, you agree to receive membership and meetup text messages and account notices from Cafés & Careers. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. See our Privacy Policy. Each group has an in-app chat that opens 1 hour before the meetup and becomes read-only about 3 hours after it starts. Members never see each other's phone numbers; contact details are only exchanged when both members choose to stay connected.
7. Attendance. When you reply YES, your group is counting on you. If your plans change, tell us as early as possible using the link in your messages. If you miss a meetup without cancelling, we'll send you a gentle reminder. If it happens again within three months, we may end your membership at the end of the period you have paid for, with no refund; to come back, you would apply again.
8. Conduct. You agree to follow our Member Guidelines. We may suspend or end the membership of anyone who breaks them.
9. Limitation of Liability.
Third-party cafés: Cafés & Careers does not operate the cafés where meetups take place and is not responsible for their products, service or premises.
Member conduct: while we work to keep the network respectful, Cafés & Careers is not liable for the actions or conduct of any member, online or offline.
10. Governing Law. These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the Province of Ontario, without regard to conflict of law principles.
11. Changes to Terms. We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms. For any questions, contact us at hello@cafesandcareers.com.
